‘AYUR' MEANS LIFE AND 'VEDA' MEANS SCIENCE.
Ayurveda is a science of life that has existed since the pre buddhist era.
The fundamental principle of Ayurveda is the theory of ‘Panchamahabhoota’- the theory of the Five Great Elements theory.
JUST AS THE UNIVERSE IS MADE UP OF FIVE ELEMENTS,
our body is also made up of these elements; Air, Space, Earth, Water and Fire.
These elements in combination make up the doshas in the body.
These doshas are bioentities; just like forces that run throughout the body and are also present in the environment.
The three doshas are related to an individual’s developmental stages: from
the intake of food to the diurnal and climatic changes in their surroundings.
